Download AnyPS5: what is in release v0.1.1 and which files you need

AnyPS5 is distributed only through GitHub releases. There is no installer: you download a relinker and a library archive, and that is the whole toolchain.

Checked against the upstream repository on Oct 11, 2026.

The official source is GitHub, and only GitHub

The project lives at github.com/boykopovar/AnyPS5. Prebuilt files are attached to the Releases page of that repository. The latest one is v0.1.1, published Sep 28, 2026, and its files have been downloaded 68,513 times.

Every file in v0.1.1, explained

The release has 8 attachments. Most people need two of them.

What to download for your OS

  • relinker-v0.1.1.exe (4.0 MB), the relinker.
  • prx-windows-v0.1.1.zip (9.6 MB), the system libraries. It already contains libgcc_s_seh-1.dll, libstdc++-6.dll and libwinpthread-1.dll, so you do not need a MinGW install.

Then follow the Windows setup steps.

Where each file goes

The relinker is a tool you run once per title. The library archive unpacks to a libs/ folder that must sit beside the converted executable every time it runs. The final folder looks like this:

runtime layout
app.exe            (app.elf on Linux)
libs/
    *.prx          <- from the prx-windows / prx-linux archive
app0/
    <the title's resources>
    sce_module/
        <modules converted by the relinker>

libs/ is for AnyPS5's own libraries. Do not copy the title's original .prx modules into it; the relinker writes converted copies under app0/ for you. Mixing them up is the cause of Windows error 193.

What changed in v0.1.1

Releases are snapshots. The main branch moves much faster (1,904 merged pull requests, last push Oct 11, 2026), and several results on the games page were obtained on main plus extra patches rather than on a tagged release.

Build from source

You only need this if you want changes newer than v0.1.1. The upstream build notes require:

  • An x86-64 machine, Git, CMake 3.22.1 or newer, Ninja and a C++20 compiler.
  • Linux: GCC, G++ and binutils, plus the X11 and Xext development headers for SDL.
  • Windows: only MinGW-w64 GCC 15.2.0 (the WinLibs x86_64-ucrt-posix-seh build) is supported at the moment. Add its mingw64/bin to PATH first.
full build
git clone https://github.com/boykopovar/AnyPS5.git
cd AnyPS5
git submodule update --init --recursive
cmake -S . -B build -G Ninja -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -DCMAKE_C_COMPILER=gcc -DCMAKE_CXX_COMPILER=g++
cmake --build build --parallel
cmake --build build --target libs --parallel

The last command matters. System libraries are a separate libs target, and titles load them from build/core/libs/libs. If you skip it after changing a library you will be testing the old binaries.

Relinker only

The conversion tool builds on its own, without submodules, SDL, Vulkan or FFmpeg, on Linux, Windows and macOS:

relinker-only build
cmake -S . -B build-relinker -G Ninja -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -DANYPS5_RELINKER_ONLY=ON
cmake --build build-relinker --parallel

Full details, flags and troubleshooting are in the upstream BUILD.md.

Safety checklist before you run anything

  • The address bar reads github.com/boykopovar/AnyPS5. Forks and similarly named repositories are not the project.
  • Download links start with https://github.com/boykopovar/AnyPS5/releases/download/.
  • You downloaded a relinker and a library archive, not an installer.
  • No games, firmware or keys came with it. The project does not distribute them, and neither does this guide.
